Elite offensive line talent coming to Notre Dame is nothing new as the Fighting Irish have continually produced future NFL-caliber linemen year-after-year.

Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep five-star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola appears to be the next player in the lineage.

Olubobola announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Tuesday choosing the Fighting Irish over Miami and Texas A&M.

According to 247Sports, Olubobola ranks as the No. 17 overall prospect in the 2027 class. The site ranks him as the No. 2 offensive tackle prospect and the No. 1 player out of New Jersey.

Olubobola was selected to the 2026 Under Armour All-American Game following a standout junior season at St. Peter's Prep. He started at left tackle for a Marauders team that finished 2025 with an 8-3 record.

Notre Dame continues recruiting wins under Freeman

Since Marcus Freeman took over in 2021, recruiting at Notre Dame has seemingly hit another level.

For years the Fighting Irish had classes that hovered between the 10-20 range nationally. Their 2026 class ranked as the highest in years and the 2027 class appears like it could rival that.

Olubobola is the first five-star pledge for Freeman and Notre Dame this cycle. 247Sports ranks the class as the No. 6 class nationally. Of their 15 pledges, five rank as top 100 recruits and seven rank as four-star prospects or better.

While it is a defensive heavy class up to this point, Notre Dame's top two recruits are both on the offensive side of the ball. Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, PA) four-star offensive tackle James Halter ranks as the No. 57 player in the country.
