2027 Illinois cornerback names Tennessee football in top five schools

Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.

Four-star cornerback Raheem Floyd named Tennessee in his top five schools, along with Texas, Florida, Missouri and Ole Miss, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound prospect is from East St. Louis High School in East St. Louis, Illinois. Former Tennessee offensive lineman Javontez Spraggins also signed with the Vols from East St. Louis.

247Sports ranks Floyd as the No. 21 cornerback in the class and No. 7 player in Illinois. Tennessee offered him a scholarship on Dec. 3, 2025. He has not visited the Vols.

Missouri was the first school to offer Floyd a scholarship on Jan. 18, 2025.

Other schools to offer him scholarship include Kent State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Western Michigan, Toledo, West Virginia, Miami University, Arizona State, Kentucky, Sacramento State, Western Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Florida State, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Nebraska and Iowa.

Tennessee has seven commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler, wide receiver KeSean Bowman and defensive back Carter Jamison.
