One of the top quarterback recruits in the 2027 recruiting class made his college decision on Thursday.

Four-star quarterback Peter Bourque committed to Virginia Tech on Thursday afternoon. He chose the Hokies over the Georgia Bulldogs.

Bourque was originally committed to the Michigan Wolverines before re-opening his recruitment in February. The Bulldogs and Hokies were the two programs really pushing for his commitment over the last few days before he chose the Hokies.

Bourque was the top uncommitted quarterback in his class and is the seventh-best quarterback recruit in the nation, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He's also the No. 82 overall recruit in the country.

This is a big get for the Hokies, who have a top 20 2027 recruiting class, per 247Sports. Head coach James Franklin is doing a wonderful job recruiting talent to the program and looks poised to turn the program around in short order.

As for the Bulldogs, they'll still be fine, despite losing out on Bourque. They recruit very well and are set up to be very good again when the 2026 season starts in late August and early September.

The Bulldogs won the SEC Championship last season and made the College Football Playoff before losing to the Ole Miss Rebels in the Sugar Bowl (CFP Quarterfinal). The Bulldogs will open up the 2026 season at home against the Tennessee State Tigers on Sept. 5.

They'll then play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Sept. 12 before opening SEC play against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Sept. 19.
