As the Washington Huskies coaching staff continues to hand out offers in the 2028 class, it didn't take long for linebackers coach Brian Odom to extend a scholarship to four-star linebacker Brayden Bonik.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, the product of Fort Bend Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas, is ranked as the No. 187 overall prospect and No. 14 linebacker in the 2028 class by the 247Sports Composite, and despite playing just two years of high school football, is one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.

He holds 46 offers, with practically every SEC, Big Ten, and blue-blood program among those in pursuit of his services. Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Tennessee are all among the programs that have extended offers to him, while he's also taken unofficial visits to Arizona State, Florida, Nebraska, and SMU.

When taking a look at his film, it's easy to see why he's become such a hot commodity.

Bonik plays with elite speed; he's reportedly been timed at 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, which helped him record 62 tackles, 9.5 for loss, with 2.5 sacks and 5 pass breakups during his sophomore year. He also possesses the necessary physicality to succeed at the college level while mainly playing outside linebackers, where he's asked to both set the edge and rush the passer.

With plenty of room to grow into his frame, if he were to wind up at Washington, Bonik has the athleticism and vision to walk between inside and outside linebacker at the college level. As Odom continues to make up his 2028 board, Washington appears to have a solid in to develop a relationship with the talented recruit.

Bonik's father, Devin, who starred at linebacker at Oklahoma State under coach Jimmy Johnson, spent 11 years as a coach in the NFL, including with the Jacksonville Jaguars under head coach Jack Del Rio. Del Rio, the longest-tenured coach in the organization's history, has made his presence known at several UW spring and fall practices since his son, Luke, is an offensive quality control coach on Jedd Fisch's staff.
