With a few holes to fill in their 2028 class, the Texas Longhorns have been busy on the recruiting trail. That continued earlier this week when they offered four-star prospect Jordan Hicks. The Mission Viejo High star is one of the best players in his class and has drawn interest from programs across the nation.

While Texas would get a boost with Hicks in the mix, they do face competition. During the recruiting process, the talented cornerback has received offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, BYU, California, Florida, Georgia, Miami, and Michigan. The high interest comes as no surprise, given how Hicks is viewed by scouts.

Currently, Hicks is ranked as the 17th-best cornerback in his class by 247Sports. They also rank the Longhorns' target as the sixth-best player from California and the 142nd-best player in the nation. Over the last few years, Hicks has frustrated offensive coordinators, which was on display last season.

As a sophomore, Hicks recorded 62 total tackles, including 1.5 for a loss. He also added five pass breakups and five interceptions to his resume. Regardless of the opponent, Hicks found a way to make an impact and force turnovers at crucial moments.

Although the Longhorns are still searching for their first commitment from a prospect in the 2028 class, they have been busy making connections. Head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have made offers to various four-star recruits, including Neimann Lawrence, Ian Thomas, Brysen Wright, Tytan McNeal, and Austin Attalah. Adding any of those players would be a major win.

Over the next few months, Hicks will be a player to watch as he weighs his options and the Longhorns build on their connection.
