After securing a top high school recruiting class and the top transfer portal class for year one, LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin has been hard at work on the recruiting trails, both for the 2027 class and still putting the finishing touches on his first Tigers roster.

Kiffin got a major recruiting win early in May has five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson committed. That's an elite in-state talent and exactly the type of recruit that Kiffin switching from the Ole Miss Rebels to LSU for. Now, he has his sights on a few more top-end recruits.

Here are some of the biggest current stories going on in Tigers recruiting:

Trying To Flip Texas Longhorns WR Commit Easton Royal

The biggest story that anyone in Baton Rouge is focused on right now is the recruitment of current Longhorns commit Easton Royal. LSU has been going hard in trying to keep Royal in Louisiana, and it appears as though they have some momentum behind them.

During a recent appearance on AYS Sports, recruiting insider Tom Loy of 247Sports said the following:

"You're talking about big money Texas. He's been committed to the Longhorns since November of last year, so it's not going to be easy. But whether everybody's wrong or not, every single person I talked to around Easton Royal says he's eventually going to flip to LSU."

Landing Royal would be a massive win, as he could be the next great in-state wide receiver talent. Having both he and Hudson in the same Kiffin offense would spell disaster for opponents.

Five-Star CB Joshua Dobson

Dobson is the No. 11 player in the nation in the 247Sports composite rankings, which puts him just a few spots behind Royal on the big board (No. 8). Adding both to a class that already has Hudson would be a dynamic trio of five-stars.

The North Carolina native is an elite athlete who could compete right away on the 2027 defense, should the Tigers land him. They also have some intense competition with the Texas A&M Aggies and the Michigan Wolverines.

LSU has the best recent track record with cornerbacks, but that is a lot of money on the recruiting trail that the Tigers have lost to before. The recent noise has been that the Aggies are gaining a lot of steam, but it's hard to count Kiffin out in any of these races, given how they have performed so far in recruiting.
