Penn State finally secured their quarterback for the Class of 2027 last week after missing out on some of their top targets. Three-star signal caller Will Wood announced his commitment after Peter Bourque and Will Mencl decided to go elsewhere.

The Nittany Lions are obviously hoping that Wood ends up being a high-level, multi-year starter, but now they have another talented player at the position who seems interested in joining. Four-star quarterback Trey Tagliaferri from the Class of 2028 visited Penn State last month and recently revealed his feelings about the school to reporters.

There is still a long time before he officially chooses a college, but the chemistry between him and the program has been built quickly throughout his recruitment. Despite going months without having a quarterback lined up for the future, we could see two great ones on the sidelines after Tagliaferri told reporters that, “Penn State is definitely one of my top teams and I loved everything about them.”

The school has been given glowing reviews by almost every recruit who has interacted with coach Matt Campbell or stepped foot on campus. It seems like this staff has a knack for forming special bonds between themselves and the players, which will help lock down recruits in the future, and hopefully Tagliaferri as well.

The New Jersey native currently stands at 6-1, 190 pounds and appears to have a great deep ball already. It would be beneficial for him to add some weight to his frame to protect himself from injury at the next level, but he has more than two years to work on it.

Let’s see what lengths Campbell and his staff will go to in order to add Tagliaferri to Penn State’s gold mine of recruits.
