There’s a lot of Notre Dame Football chatter out there during the month of May. I know we’re all living under that Irish bubble, but the Irish continue to be a program that media outlets continually bring into the conversation around college football. Good or bad — it’s all business in May.

Sometimes when you run the speed option, you get absolutely crushed on the edge because the offensive tackle disappears. Notre Dame probably wouldn’t have had that problem with Layton von Brandt, but the former Penn State commit pulled out a surprise and chose Auburn over Notre Dame on Monday. So… that sucked. You never want to be the hat left on the table, and his name has so much meme potential. Good luck on The Plains.

PREPOSTEROUS

I agree with Rece Davis about the possibility of the CFP expanding to 24 teams.

With that said… you can see why there are many Power 4 programs that are all in on this move. I still can’t understand why Pete Bevacqua is so openly in favor of it (at least the real reasons) but this data point also strengthens his argument (kind of).
