Four-star Georgia Bulldogs running back commitment Jae Lamar has shut down his recruitment. Lamar has been committed to Georgia since June.
The elite running back recruit plays high school football for Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back is ranked as the No. 12 player at his position in the country. Lamar is the No. 128 recruit in the nation and the No. 16 prospect in Georgia.
Lamar possesses an impressive combination of balance and explosiveness. He plays football at the same high school as former Georgia running back Daijun Edwards, who rushed for 2,083 yards and 24 touchdowns in his four season career at UGA. Lamar grew up as a Georgia fan.
“Let’s work baby,” Lamar said via social media after shutting down his recruitment. Numerous teams continued their pursuit of Lamar. Back in June, he committed to Georgia over Auburn, Miami, Clemson and Florida State.
Lamar is sticking with Georgia, who has stuck with him during an up-and-down senior season. Lamar was forced to watch one game from the sidelines due to a behavior incident. However, he was able to return to his team after they made a plan for Lamar’s return. He’s followed the plan and has made a major impact for Colquitt County.
Lamar scored four rushing touchdowns in Colquitt County’s 35-24 GHSA football playoffs win over Mill Creek. The four-star showed off his speed on a 65-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter.
