Nebraska football will host class of 2027 defensive back James Johnson for a visit in June. Johnson is locked in to visit the weekend of June 12-14.
Johnson is a three-star defensive back. He is the 98th overall safety in the 2027 class and the 33rd overall player in his class from the state of Illinois, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.
Johnson has an extensive offer sheet that includes Cincinnati, West Virginia, Utah, and Illinois.
He has visited Lincoln before. He took an official visit on May 17. He also has visits set up with Utah on May 29, Cincinnati on June 5, and West Virginia on June 19. The West Virginia visit will be official as well.
The Nebraska football recruiting class of 2027 ranks 20th overall nationally according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. The class itself currently has four blue-chip commits.
Johnson would be another quality player for defensive backs coach Addison Williams to work with. This is a recruitment that is certainly worth watching.
