It’s never too early to look ahead in recruiting, and for Notre Dame football, they have put themselves in a fantastic position with one of the nation’s best 2028 signal callers.
Neimann Lawrence, a 6-foot, 1-inch and 202-pound quarterback from Florida recently updated On3’s Mike Singer on his recruitment (subscription required), and he’s extremely high on the Irish. What stands out is the relationship that he’s formed with quarterback’s coach Gino Guidugli, one that began last year during a camp visit.
It’s progressed so much that Lawrence said “I love the relationship I’ve been building with those guys (head coach Marcus Freeman and Guidugli), and they’ve been recruiting down here in my hometown.” The Irish have made Florida prospects a priority, and a summer commitment date looks to be the case.
Lawrence has named a top-10, obviously with Notre Dame being listed, but it’s a who’s who of college football powers going after the nation’s No. 54 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. The Irish offered him this past April, and academics is extremely important to him as well.
The combination of high-level football and a top-end degree could push the start quarterback to South Bend this summer.
Notre Dame quarterback recruiting is heating up ahead of a critical summer period 🔥☘️
