The Georgia Bulldogs struck out on an interior offensive line prospect. Four-star interior offensive line recruit Carter Jones committed to the Clemson Tigers, according to Hayes Fawcett. He chose the Tigers over Georgia, Tennessee, and Penn State.

Jones is a four-star prospect from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-6, 291-pound offensive lineman plays high school football for Poquoson High School in Poquoson, Virginia. He is the No. 16 interior offensive lineman prospect in the nation. According to 247Sports, he also has defensive experience, though no position was named.

Jones immediately becomes one of Clemson’s best recruits from the class of 2027. The Tigers have amassed the No. 22 recruiting class in the nation, with five four-stars.

Georgia, meanwhile, has been on a cold streak with their recruiting. They have just the No. 33 class in the nation. While five-star Kemon Spell is ranked higher than any recruit Clemson has, Georgia has just seven commitments.

They’ve had a depressing number of decommits, including five-star corner Donte Wright (Miami), four-star corner Jerry Outhouse (UCLA) and three-star Aden Starling (uncommitted). They also just lost out on interior offensive line prospect Jatori Williams, who also committed to Miami.

They’ve recruited offensive linemen from this class, but all of them are listed as offensive tackles. Kelsey Adams is the highest rated out of the three offensive linemen Georgia earned commits from, since he is the No. 32 prospect in the nation. However, Georgia will need a heater in June, similar to last season, to bulk up their recruiting class.
