Rutgers football game times set for first five games

Rutgers football will be playing under the lights a lot through the early part of this upcoming season.

The Big Ten announced on May 27 game times for the first five weeks of the season, and the Scarlet Knights will kick off at 6 p.m. or later in four of their first five contests, including a big matchup against Indiana.

Rutgers will also not be playing on a Saturday in three of the first five games.

Greg Schiano’s team will be looking to rebound from a 5-7 campaign.

Here are the dates and times for the Scarlet Knights’ first five games:

Thursday, Sept. 3: vs. UMass, 6 p.m. (Big Ten Network)

Friday, Sept. 11: at Boston College, 7:30 p.m. (ESPN2)

Saturday, Sept. 19: vs. USC, 3:30 p.m. (CBS)

Friday, Sept. 25: vs. Howard, 7 p.m. (BTN)

Saturday, Oct. 3: vs. Indiana, 8 p.m.

Saturday: Oct. 17: at Maryland, no later than 5 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 24: at Northwestern

Saturday, Oct. 31: vs. Michigan

Saturday, Nov. 7: at Wisconsin

Saturday, Nov. 14: vs. Nebraska

Saturday, Nov. 21: at Penn State

Saturday, Nov. 28: vs. Michigan State
