After a disastrous first half, Texas A&M stormed back from a 30-3 deficit to secure a 31-30 victory in front of a crowd of more than 108,000 fans at Kyle Field on Saturday morning.

Leading up to the game, there was plenty of chatter surrounding Texas A&M right up until kickoff. Marcel Reed’s Heisman campaign truly ignited and gained momentum across Aggie social media with the theme of “Chant.” Many felt slighted after last week’s dominant win over Missouri, only to remain stagnant in the CFP rankings. Additionally, speculation about a new contract for Mike Elko fueled the rumor mill Saturday morning.

With the way the first half unfolded, it seemed as though A&M was distracted. But—holy cow—did they ever turn it up in the second half. Marcel Reed delivered a spectacular performance after appearing rattled in the opening 15 minutes. He erupted for a total of 452 yards and threw all three of his passing touchdowns in the second half, leading A&M to a historic comeback victory.

It’s clear this team is built differently than in years past and looks every bit like a top-five contender. They are now firmly in control, positioned for both a CFP selection and an SEC Championship Game berth for the first time in program history. These are the types of games that reveal what a team is truly made of, and the Aggies proved they are full of grit.
