The UCLA Bruins have made another addition to their 2027 recruiting class. Three-star interior offensive lineman Weston Hicks committed to the program on Sunday, announcing the news on social media.
"I want to express my gratitude to all of the people that have poured into me during this recruiting process. With that said I am excited to say that I am 10000000% COMMITTED to play at UCLA," he wrote.
Hicks is from Avon, Connecticut, and picked UCLA over the Virginia Tech Hokies and TCU Horned Frogs. He was set to officially visit all three programs, but the Bruins took advantage of having his first official visit and went ahead and secured his commitment. He is the 11th player to commit to them in May.
It was not a long courtship between UCLA and Hicks. They extended him a scholarship offer on Feb. 2 as his recruitment took off. It took just one visit from him to Westwood to decide to go ahead and end his recruitment.
He is ranked as the No. 1,008 overall player and No. 62 interior offensive lineman in the 247Sports composite. The 6-foot-5.5, 295-pounder is also the No. 3 player from Connecticut.
Hicks is UCLA's 20th commitment overall and third along the offensive line, joining four-star prospect Jackson Roper and three-star prospect Gage Esty. The group is ranked as the 7th best class in the country and the 2nd best in the Big Ten by 247Sports.
