Heading into the weekend, the Wisconsin Badgers were hoping to make some noise during official visits with their top 2027 class targets, as they hosted 19 recruits for a visit. 13 of those players were already committed, while the other six were priority players for Wisconsin.

Of the six, there were a couple trending towards Wisconsin. Three-star cornerback Royalton Allen and three-star linebacker Nathan Jones both received multiple crystal ball predictions to commit to Wisconsin ahead of the weekend. But there were still a number of toss-up recruitments that Wisconsin was hoping to close.

Well, the Badgers made a big move for four-star wide receiver Jai Jones over the weekend, as the Arizona native committed to Wisconsin on his first visit to Madison. Jones had been a key target for new wide receivers coach Ari Confesor after receiving an offer in January, and the Badgers beat out Arizona and Cal for his recruitment.

Wisconsin also got a commitment from Nathan Jones, who had only one official visit scheduled (Wisconsin) and was heavily trending towards the Badgers going into the weekend.

But that wasn’t the only major buzz from the weekend. The Badgers also hosted four-star cornerback Mekhi Williams on campus, as they looked to improve their position with the Florida State commit. Williams had been receiving heavy interest from outside schools, with LSU, Wisconsin, and Nebraska all pushing for the Florida native.

Well, Williams didn’t commit to Wisconsin, but he did de-commit from Florida State on Sunday, while 247Sports Florida State insider Zach Blostein made a crystal ball prediction in favor of Wisconsin.

That is some serious news for the Badgers, considering that LSU had been seen as a major contender for Williams. It was just the second trip to Madison for Williams, but it seems to have made a good impression with the buzz coming out of the weekend.

Williams was expected to visit Florida State next weekend, with trips to Nebraska and LSU following that. Now, we’ll see if those trips are made or not.
