Dubbed the Lane Kiffin Bowl, it’s Florida vs. Mississippi in Oxford on Saturday night.
As its coach continues to be linked to the vacant Gators coaching position, No. 7 Ole Miss will host Florida as the Rebels remain firmly in the hunt for an SEC championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff. A loss last year to Florida torpedoed Ole Miss‘ CFP hopes.
The Rebels are 9-1 record with just two games remaining on their schedule — against Florida and Mississippi State, teams with a combined SEC record of 3-9 — and take on a Florida team that will be playing its second game under interim head coach Billy Gonzales, who took over for the fired Billy Napier. His stint has produced wildly different results so far, with a 24-20 loss to No. 5 Georgia followed up one week later by a 38-7 drubbing at the hands of lowly Kentucky.
Stay updated on tonight’s game as the Gators look to spoil Ole Miss’ playoff hopes — again.

7:50 3Q: Gators hold at goal line, still lead
This drive brought to you by Fourth Down.
On 4th-and-7, Trinidad Chambliss completed a pass to himself for a conversion, and the Rebels converted a 4th-and-1 later in the drive as the offense picked up the tempo to keep the Gators on their heels. But Florida held at the goal line on another fourth down when Chambliss threw an incomplete pass on a slant from the 1-yard line. A 15-play, seven-minute drive comes up empty. FLORIDA 24, OLE MISS 20

The Rebels have stumbled before when Kiffin’s name has been linked to high-profile coaching vacancies, but they’ve been so much better than the Gators this season that it’s hard to envision them falling, especially with their stout defense matching up against Florida’s lethargic offense.
