It is that time of year again, when teams start hosting prospects from other schools and it looks like Notre Dame is fighting to retain one of its 2027 commitments.

Florida linebacker Amarri Irving committed to the Irish in November of 2025, but it looks like his father’s alma mater is going hard to flip him. According to a report by Jason Killop (subscription required), the son of former Michigan State running back Sedrick took an official visit to East Lansing over the weekend.

The fact that his father played for the Spartans isn’t the only aspect for Irvin rethinking his commitment, as he originally committed when Notre Dame has linebackers coach Max Bullough, who has since left to coach as his alma mater. In recruiting relationships matter, and this is now a recruitment to watch as the potential to flip to MSU is there for Irving.
