Four-star offensive tackle recruit JJ Brown has committed to the Clemson Tigers, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. Brown had the Georgia Bulldogs listed as a top landing spot until he reached a final decision. The talented lineman has decided that Clemson is the best fit to begin his collegiate career in 2027. Brown was projected to commit to Georgia prior to his commitment.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, Brown was a massive target for the Bulldogs prior to his Clemson commitment. Brown’s top six schools included Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, Florida, Kentucky and Auburn, with Clemson considered as a close favorite behind Georgia. The rising star is still scheduled to take an official visit to Athens on June 5, as coach Kirby Smart and his staff will make their best attempt at flipping the recruit’s commitment from Clemson to Georgia.
Brown is listed as the No. 32 overall offensive tackle and the No. 328 overall player from the class of 2027, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is ranked as the No. 30 player out of Georgia, as Brown has been nothing short of a superstar to begin his career at Parkview High School (Lilburn, Georgia). The big man will undoubtedly continue to shine throughout his senior year with Parkview.
Brown is not the only Georgia offensive tackle recruiting target to commit to another school recently. Four-star offensive tackle Kennedee Jackson committed to Florida, so Georgia has to reset who it is prioritizing at offensive tackle in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
North Oconee star and son of All-American Bulldogs’ lineman David Pollack, Nicholas Pollack, recently committed to Clemson in addition to Brown. The Bulldogs will continue targeting top talent across the country, but Brown and Pollack have committed to Clemson over Georgia nonetheless.
