It's been a long time coming… 15 years to be exact, since Ohio State has run a kick back for a touchdown. But that streak is now over thanks to Lorenzo Styles Jr.
After giving up a touchdown to UCLA, the Buckeyes received the following kickoff, which was fielded by Styles a few yards deep in the endzone. Instead of taking a knee, the OSU return man decided to run the ball out to see what he could get. In the moment, it didn't seem like a great idea, but Styles darted all the way to the other side of the field and followed his blockers, who opened running lanes and allowed him to break into the open. Once he got past the 30-yard line, it was nothing but smooth sailing ahead as Styles scampered more than 100 yards for the score. It is the first kickoff return for a touchdown since 2010 when Jordan Hall ran one back in a 37-7 win over Michigan.
