The Oklahoma Sooners 2027 recruiting class is one of the best in the country. It’s a group that features blue-chip prospects from the state of Oklahoma and from around the country. It was already a strong class heading into official visit season, and then the Sooners picked up commitments from an underrated star at running back in Jacoby Dixon and one of the highest-rated cornerbacks in the class, Gabriel Osborne.

With six months until the early signing period, the Sooners are in a strong position to finish the cycle with one of the best recruiting classes in the nation and the best recruiting class in the Brent Venables era.

Currently, the Sooners rank No. 2 in the nation in team recruiting rankings from Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN. They trail only the Texas A&M Aggies, who rank No. 1 across the board with as many as five five-star prospects committed to the class.

In an average of team recruiting rankings from Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN, three SEC teams make up the top 5 in the nation, with Miami and Notre Dame breaking up the party. The Big Ten has the most top-10 programs at this point in the cycle, with four, followed by the SEC with three, the ACC with two, and Notre Dame completes the top 10 at No. 5 in the nation.

The only other SEC team to rank in the top 15 is the Auburn Tigers, led by new head coach Alex Golesh. Ole Miss just missed the cut at No. 16, and Georgia and Texas are tied at 17 in average team recruiting ranking. As visit season heats up, it’s easy to imagine the Bulldogs and the Longhorns climbing into the top 10 and making a push for the top five in team recruiting rankings by the end of the cycle.

For the Sooners, they’ve built a ton of momentum coming off their 10-win season and College Football Playoff appearance to build out a recruiting class with elite talents. There are uncommitted targets like Bode Sparrow and Uhila Wolfgramm, who will bolster the class if they choose the Sooners. Sparrow is the No. 59 player in the class, according to Rivals.

Here’s a look at the top 15 teams in average team recruiting rankings for the 2027 cycle as of June 5.
