Michigan gears up for a second straight week of official visits by hosting another lone offensive lineman prospect in the 2027 recruiting class starting Friday.

NFL Academy star and four-star offensive lineman Niko Kampas, out of London, flew into Ann Arbor last Friday. Now, four-star offensive lineman Lincoln Mageo will get his time with the coaching staff for a few days.

Mageo landed Thursday night after flying cross-country from Oceanside, California. It’s his third trip to campus and a return following a trip in mid-April. As of Friday, Michigan commands a significant lead to land Mageo, but there’s a West Coast school looking to reverse it.

“Michigan has always been up there for me and meeting the new staff just confirmed that they’re still up there,” Mageo previously told Maize n Brew.

Michigan is situated within Mageo’s final list of schools that also includes Washington and Utah. He’ll officially visit the Huskies on June 17-19 and just completed an official in Salt Lake City this past weekend. He’s seen U-M the most out of the trio — with his visit two months ago lasting for three days — but according to On3’s Ethan McDowell, the Utes are pushing hard.

Mageo is expected to announce a commitment July 11, meaning Washington has an opportunity to turn the tide. To keep the momentum on Michigan’s side, the program will welcome in another offensive lineman this weekend who’s currently committed.

Sidney Rouleau, who picked the Wolverines in March, will conduct intense peer recruiting that mirrors what the staff will churn out. Louis Esposito, the first 2027 recruit to commit to Michigan, told Maize n Brew at the Under Armour All-American Camp in Chicago that he’s been busy building relationships with uncommitted targets, too. It wouldn’t be a shock if Esposito makes an appearance to be with Mageo.

Offensive line coach Jim Harding is ensuring that every rock is turned over to add a fourth trench mauler to the 2027 class. The assistant moved the needle well on Mageo’s second visit and their connection continued at a steady rate during the evaluation period.

“I loved watching coach Harding break down technique during indy period so that everyone could understand,” Mageo said. “That is the type of coaching that I’m looking for. A coach who takes time to break down technique and focuses on development.

“We went bowling and coach Harding is pretty good, but I definitely need to practice more so I can beat him the next time I’m out there. He’s a cool coach and makes it comfortable for his room to ask questions if they don’t understand something.”

At 6-foot-3.5, 285 pounds, Mageo is listed as the No. 242 overall prospect and No. 16 interior offensive lineman in the country, according to Rivals. He’s also the No. 22 player in California.
