Clemson keeps on rolling in 2027 commitments after building a ton of momentum in May. During the last weekend of the month, the Tigers had a majority of their biggest targets on campus for official visits. Dabo Swinney and his team made quite the impression over the recruiting weekend and kept their momentum rolling.

Swinney’s staff has convinced nine more players to commit to the program in less than a week. They were able to fill many positions that were still needed in the 2027 class. With the recent surge of commitments, Clemson now has 21 commits in the class overall. Eleven of them are considered blue-chip prospects. There was also a recent commitment from a top-ranked player at their position.

The Tigers’ recruiting class has now jumped up to the 11th best in the country according to Rivals/On3

Clemson Keeps on Rolling in 2027 Commitments

Offensive Line Commitments

After striking out on a few offensive linemen to start the year, there was a small minority of the Clemson fanbase that raised questions about Matt Luke’s recruiting ability. Luke quickly put those questions to bed at the end of May by bringing in four offensive line commits in under 10 days.

Every commit is a four-star prospect. Three commitments were made just before or immediately after last weekend’s official visits. The first in that group to make their announcement was interior lineman Elijah Morrison. He is the 24th-ranked interior lineman in the 2027 class and a top-40 player in the state of Georgia. Morrison announced his commitment just before his visit. His size and physicality make finishing blocks a great addition to the Tigers’ offensive front.

The Monday following the official visit weekend, Luke Starcevic and JJ Brown announced they will also play in Tigertown in 2027. Sturacevic is the second overall best 2027 recruit in the state of North Dakota and a top-20 offensive lineman. He is a versatile prospect who plays multiple positions at his high school, including tight end and defensive end. His length and athleticism will make him a good fit for offensive tackle.

Brown is listed as strictly an offensive tackle and is ranked 24th at the position in the 2027 class. The top-30 prospect in Georgia chose Clemson over his home-state school, Georgia, as well as Florida, Florida State, and Auburn.

First Edge Commitments of 2027

The offensive line wasn’t the only group that got a haul following last weekend, as the defense also made some great additions. Clemson went into the weekend desperate to land a couple of edge players it was after. Things went according to plan for Chris Rumph and Tom Allen as they acquired commitments from a trio of edge players.

At the start of the weekend, Santana Harvey announced his commitment. The four-star prospect is a top-30 player in Florida and the 32nd-ranked edge rusher in the 2027 class. Harvey chose Clemson over the likes of Notre Dame, Colorado, and conference adversary Georgia Tech.

He wasn’t the only recruit Clemson was able to keep away from its ACC foe, as immediately following his official visit, Desmond Malpress made his commitment. Malpress is another four-star Florida prospect, who is the 15th-ranked player in the state. He also chose Clemson over rival South Carolina, making it even better for Tiger fans.

One day after Malpress announced his commitment, three-star edge JiQuan Rogers made his. Rogers was predicted to make a commitment to Swinney’s program for about a week before he made it official. He will add to the growing depth at a position that will need it after this season.

More Additions

Along with multiple commitments from offensive linemen and defensive ends, there were four other commitments from solid three-star prospects.

Chad Morris and Tyler Grisham continue to add talent to the wide receiver room as they bring in Julian Cromartie. The son of former All-Pro cornerback Antonio Cromartie is a top prospect in Texas. He will help load the depth at wide receiver for a Tigers offense that is at its best with explosive playmakers at the position.

Cromartie is not the only son of a great former football player who committed to Clemson in the 2027 class, though. Tight end Nick Pollack,  son of Georgia Football legend and current college football analyst David Pollack, announced he will be sporting the orange and white for his college career. Pollack is ranked the 65th-best tight end in the 2027 class.

The day after Pollack’s commitment, Swinney got news that the number one punter in the 2027 recruiting class, Bradin Gallaway, had decided he would be a future Tiger. Gallaway is also ranked the number four kicker in the class.

Clemson’s latest recruiting win was its first commitment from a cornerback in this class. Bryant Robinson announced his commitment to the Tigers on Wednesday afternoon. The 84th-ranked player in Texas stands at 6’ 3, giving Allen the length he is looking for on his defense.

This recent string of wins in recruiting is a great sign for the future of Clemson football.
