One prospect on the Washington Huskies' June 19 official visitor list will not be in attendance after three-star defensive back Jeovanni Henley announced his commitment to the California Golden Bears.
The 6-foot, 165-pound product of Junipero Serra High School in Northern California, who is ranked as the No. 1,309 overall prospect and No. 103 athlete in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite, chose coach Tosh Lupoi's program out of a final five that also included BYU, Penn State, and Texas, alongside the Huskies.
“I feel like it was them because back when coach Tosh was at Oregon, he believed in me from the start of sophomore year, and the relationship I had with him was great,” Henley told Rivals' Brandon Huffman of why he chose Cal.

While Henley, who had also scheduled official visits with Penn State, Texas, and UCLA, may have been a little bit further down Washington's board in the secondary, as the Huskies continue to push for four-star safety Jaden Walk-Green, as well as four-star cornerbacks Censere Gaylord and Kamil Loud, and three-star corner Evan Mack, his pledge symbolizes that Lupoi and his ability to build relationships could be something to monitor on the recruiting trail moving forward.
Of Cal's 17 commits, Washington showed interest in several, including four-star edge rusher Troy Bowens and three-star defensive lineman Giovanni Hodge, who was already committed to the Golden Bears by the Huskies extended an offer to him.
Secondary coach John Richardson has also already put together the bones of a strong 2027 class of defensive backs, with four-star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava and three-star cornerback Maurice Williams both pledged to Jedd Fisch's program.
