Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Husky coaches brought in a few surprise visitors for the game against Purdue this weekend. With the early signing day just weeks away the staff is trying to put the finishing touches on their class, and here is a look at the 2026 prospects who made their way to campus for an official:
Current Baylor commit Jordan Clay from Madison HS, in San Antonio TX, who is rated as a 4 star wide receiver, made his way to campus this weekend. Rated as the 8th best wideout by 247sports in the 2026 class, Clay is a bigger wideout that the Huskies have been searching for (he’s listed at 6’3” and around 200 pounds). The Huskies are hoping they make a late push to flip Clay from Baylor. Clay is an impressive wideout who has great ball skills and also deceptive speed. With Baylor struggling this season and a possible coaching change on the horizon the Huskies are hoping they can take advantage of the situation and add one of the top players in the state of Texas. If the Huskies can land him I could easily envision Clay pushing for early playing time next year. He is a player to monitor in the coming weeks and he would be a massive pickup if the Huskies can pull off the flip for him.
Speaking of wide receivers, the Husky coaching staff brought in another 4 star wide receiver in the 2026 class. Trez Davis from West Monroe HS, LA was another big-time visitor in town for the Purdue game. Davis, who is rated as the 41st best wide receiver in the 2026 class, is another wide receiver who is committed elsewhere but is looking heavily at the Huskies (he’s committed to Tulane currently). Listed at 6’0” and around 180 pounds, Davis is a speedster on the field and has the ability to play both inside and out in college. The Huskies don’t typically go into Louisiana and land players, but they are trying to see if they can make some hay by bringing in Davis for a visit. Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall is a name that is being floated heavily for some top coaching jobs around the country and Davis could be a flip candidate if the coaching situation at Tulane changes. With the likely loss of Denzel Boston this offseason and the graduation of Omari Evans the staff is trying to bring in some impact wideouts who can come in and contribute early next season.
3 star offensive tackle Marlen Bright from DePaul Catholic HS, NJ was another flip candidate on campus this weekend. Bright, who is currently committed to Penn State, is rated as the 43rd best offensive tackle in the country by 247sports. The Huskies have been pushing to flip Bright for a while now and finally got him on campus this weekend for an official visit. Listed at 6’7” and around 290 pounds he has an ideal frame for a future offensive tackle in college. The Huskies are hoping the uncertainty around the Penn State job will work in their favor and that Bright will decide to join his teammate Derek Zammit on Montlake. It sounds like Bright will probably wait to see who Penn State hires as their coach before he decides which school he signs with. The Huskies are already bringing in 3 offensive lineman in the 2026 class and it looks like they want to add another to bolster the depth and talent along the offensive line.
The last official visitor, who is also committed elsewhere, was 3 star defensive lineman Jae’lin Battle from Sate Fe HS, OK. Battle, who is currently committed to Baylor, is rated as the 69th best defensive lineman in the 2026 class by 247sports. It’s no surprise to see the staff try and add another talented player along the defensive line in the 2026 class and Battle could slot into a role similar to current Husky Anterio Thompson. Listed at 6’2” and around 280 pounds, Battle is a little on the small side for a traditional defensive tackle, but he is very productive (last season he had 8 TFL’s and 4 sacks for his team). With the uncertainty around Baylor’s coaching situation a lot of Baylor commits will be looking around to see other options. Battle is a player I would monitor as well (though the staff is also in the thick of things with 3 star defensive tackle JD Hill is very similar to Battle and is set to commit next weekend- and I suspect the staff will take the first to commit out of those 2 players).
The Huskies also had 3 star edge Noah Tishendorf on an unofficial visit. Tishendorf, who was just offered by the Husky staff, is currently committed to West Virginia, but has shown interest in staying closer to home. The Huskies have been tracking Tishendorf for a while and it sounds like they want to add another edge player to the 2026 class (with Tishendorf being a player who could be in play for the Huskies).
That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
