Riverdale 2027 DL James Stewart commits to Arkansas football

Riverdale senior three-star defensive lineman James Stewart committed to Arkansas football on his X account on June 8.

The 6-foot-1, 285-pound Stewart is ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 35 player in Tennessee and the No. 89 defensive lineman nationally in the 2027 class.

He has offers from Colorado, Boston College, Illinois, Maryland, Memphis, Tulane, Liberty and MTSU, among others.

The Region 3-6A Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year and first-team all-area performer had 65 tackles (12 for loss), four sacks and two caused fumbles in leading Blackman to a 12-win season and Class 6A state semifinals berth in 2025. He transferred to Riverdale during the offseason.
