Washington Huskies Recruiting Personnel Worth Every Cent of Extensions

Although the contracts were signed back in February, the impact Marcus Griffin and Jaleel Wadood continue to have on the Washington Huskies is worth every penny.
The personnel duo has been instrumental for third-year UW coach Jedd Fisch, both of whom joined the Huskies‘ staff in February 2025, and since then, the program has signed two of the best high school recruiting classes in program history.
Griffin was widely credited for helping secure five-star Mater Dei offensive tackle Kodi Greene in the 2026 class. As the NCAA expanded the number of off-campus recruiters, schools are allowed to use, the ex- Bellevue High and former Arizona defensive lineman has grown the Huskies’ footprint to include more offers out in the 2028 and 2029 classes in Georgia and other southern states.
Wadood, a former director of player personnel for coach Jim Mora Jr. at Connecticut, recently was a key cog in helping get four-star Pflugerville (Tex.) Weiss wide receiver Tre Moore to pick UW over Ohio State and Miami, the second-highest rated commit for Fisch and Co. in the 2027 class, based on 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

To have one or the other would be significant for any school. That’s what makes extending both in their current roles even more impressive and imperative for UW as the program looks to put itself annually in contention for a Big Ten championship.
Wadood, a one-time California Golden Bears verbal commit out of St. John Bosco High School who wound up staying close to home to play for UCLA, has been just as influential as Griffin for Fisch when it comes to maintaining the Huskies’ presence in Southern California.
This weekend the staff is hosting a trio of current Braves defenders; four-star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava, and three-star linebacker brothers Ethan and Justin Coach, for an official visit with all three already committed to UW’s 2027 class.
With his time on the East Coast, Wadood has also helped expand UW’s recruiting footprint similarly to how Griffin has more than earned his keep helping the program sign a top 20 class three years in a row for the first time since the 2018-20 classes under Chris Petersen.
