Alex Golesh and the Auburn Tigers have landed their second commitment of Monday, securing a pledge from four-star safety Chance Gilbert.

He officially visited Auburn over the past weekend and saw enough to go ahead and end his recruitment. He is from Sharpsburg, Georgia, and picked the Tigers over the Georgia Bulldogs, who hosted him for an official visit earlier in June. The Tigers landed a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Reed Ramsier earlier in the day.

Gilbert is ranked as the No. 56 overall player and No. 4 safety in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 4 player from Georgia. He is Auburn’s second-highest-ranked commit, just behind four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook, who is the No. 46 player in the country.

He had a strong junior season at East Coweta High School, helping contribute in all three phases. He finished the year with 53 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. On offense, he caught 16 passes for 393 yards and five touchdowns, also carrying the ball two times for 71 yards and another touchdown. He averaged 33.7 yards on kickoff returns, bringing one back for a touchdown.

Auburn now has 16 players committed in their 2027 recruiting class as they have capitalized on the start of official visits, landing 12 commitments since the start of May. The group is ranked as the 15th-best class in the country and the 5th-best in the SEC by 247Sports.
