Notre Dame's latest wide receiver target, Ryan Richmond-McDavis, left campus this weekend and it looks like the Irish made a very positive impression.
The speedy wide receiver caught the attention of many coaching staffs by posting a 4.37-second 40-yard dash and a 34-inch vertical at an Under Armour camp this spring, validating the explosiveness he's shown lately. According to the 247Sports Composite, Richmond-McDavis is ranked No. 176 prospect in the 2028 class and the No. 25 wide receiver.
A St. Louis native, Richmond-McDavis plays his high school football at Cardinal Ritter, a program that continues to produce FBS talent and routinely plays against quality opponents. He has drawn interest from other Power Five schools because of his verified speed and performance at regional camps.
Notre Dame offered Richmond-McDavis in early March, joining other programs such as Nebraska, Oregon, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kentucky amongst others. This weekend's visit has seemingly elevated the Irish according to his latest quotes. He referenced recent Irish great Jeremiyah Love in a recent interview with Irish Sports Daily, saying, "Jeremiyah Love, that's my brother's best friend. So being around him, seeing him talk about Notre Dame, it definitely made me want to come check it out.”
Whether the connection with Love will help with this particular recruitment is still to be seen but it is not the only reason he is considering coming to South Bend. He was very impressed by the education offered at the school saying, “I’d probably say the education piece, they’re big on education here at Notre Dame, and to be honest, I like that. I’m a big education guy.”
For now, Richmond-McDavis is expected to continue his busy visit schedule with Missouri, Ole Miss and Oregon still on the docket, but head coach Marcus Freeman will surely keep tabs on the speedy wide receiver and follow his recruitment to the end.
