Michigan football beat Northwestern, 24-22, on Saturday to improve to 8-2 on the season. Yet, the maize and blue didn’t exactly impress in the effort.

The Wolverine offense actually moved the ball with seeming ease against a top-rated defense, but with five turnovers against the Wildcats, the coaches across college football weren’t about to reward the maize and blue.

In the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, Michigan remained No. 17, with no ranked wins, but two ranked losses in No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 16 USC. Ohio State remains No. 1, and the Buckeyes only have one ranked wins, over No. 18 Texas.
