A Carr family member at Michigan? Yeah, that feels a lot more normal than Notre Dame.

Tommy Carr, the grandson of former Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr and the brother of Notre Dame quarterback C.J. Carr, flipped his commitment from Miami (Ohio) to the school that he has rooted for his whole life. He announced the decision on Sunday, Nov. 16.

Like his brother, Tommy Carr played for Saline High School and is a member of the 2026 class. His season ended Friday night in a Division 1 regional final at home against No. 1 Detroit Cass Tech, 42-28. He passed for three touchdowns as Saline finished 10-2.

Tommy Carr is now the second quarterback in Michigan's 2026 recruiting class that is ranked No. 10 in the nation by 247Sports, joining four-star Brady Smigiel from Newbury Park, California.

Carr is a three-star QB in 247Sports' composite rankings.
