NC State’s 2027 recruiting cycle is going well by Dave Doeren standards—call it Gunnermentum. Gunnercitement! Gunner … hell, I don’t know.

NC State has 15 verbal commitments with the addition of offensive lineman Jacob Burns, a high-three-star prospect from Georgia. Burns is the fourth player to commit to NC State since Sunday, joining safety Alex Scott, defensive lineman Amir Moore, and offensive lineman Colt Hauser.

Offensive line coach Garett Tujague has done excellent work in this cycle, landing four players up front, all of them from outside of North Carolina. Three of them are among State’s seven highest-rated commits at this point. Gunner Rivers and safety KJ Caldwell—the two four-star players in the group—are first and second.

The Pack’s staff has done well in Georgia and Florida, with nine commits combined from those states. The Wolfpack’s recruiting class is No. 33 in the 247 Composite rankings and would be one of Dave’s better efforts if it finished that way. The program’s last two classes didn’t crack the top 45.
