Missouri football collected a pair of notable College Football Recruiting wins in two days already. The Tigers won over former Michigan offensive lineman Tristan Dare. Now Mizzou beats out Florida and Iowa for another blue chip talent: Four-star wide receiver Lawrence Britt.
Britt himself confirmed his decision with both On3/Rivals and 247Sports Thursday. He told Sean Williams of 247Sports that the relationship building concept won over the Lausanne Collegiate Prep of Memphis standout.
“I picked Mizzou because I had a really great relationship since the day they offered me back when I was a sophomore,” Britt said to Williams. “They have always shown and expressed that I am a major priority for them, and they want me to be a game-changer and a playmaker inside their offense.
He revealed to Chad Simmons of On3/Rivals that one assistant watched extensive highlights of his game, persuading the offer.
“Coach [Jacob] Peeler told me he watched all 16 minutes of my film,” Britt told Rivals. “That was very impressive to me. He showed me right away that he was very interested in me, and that never changed.”
Britt rises as a big recruiting coup for head coach Eliah Drinkwitz and his coaching staff. He’s also the second four-star to commit to Mizzou, joining local talent Chris Harris Jr. out of Lee’s Summit. Peeler rose to the forefront in landing the 6-foot-0, 175-pound Harris.
The Grind City talent Britt brings a taller presence at 6-foot-2. Britt also has lined up at running back and accelerates after he touches the ball, adding some needed speed down the road for Mizzou.
