Noles News: ESPN ranks Duce Robinson as 8th-best WR in the country

Football:

An excellent article from Jon on how FSU’s administration is treating the fanbase like The Giving Tree:

Florida State’s current situation did not develop overnight. Tomahawk Nation has spent months documenting the broader reality around the program: a football team stuck in self-inflicted purgatory, a head coach retained largely because of financial constraints, an athletic department carrying serious debt, and a fan base repeatedly asked to keep funding the next solution while waiting for the payoff. The problems are not one bad season or one unpopular decision. They are structural, financial, and cultural.

Duce Robinson is the premier playmaker on Florida State’s offense and he comes in at No.8 on ESPN’s list of the top 10 receivers in the country.

“He’s one of those guys where after playing them, I was like, ‘Please, let’s never play this guy ever again,'” said an ACC GM whose program played against Robinson last season. “I’d take Duce before [Malachi] Toney.”

CBSSports ranked all P4 quarterbacks into tiers and opportunity beckons for Ashton Daniels.

Ashton Daniels, Florida State (via Auburn)

Considering that he’s attempted 721 passes over four seasons at Stanford and Auburn, Daniels is certainly a proven player. But he hasn’t proven to be a needle-mover. Florida State is banking on a late-career surge as head coach Mike Norvell’s future hangs in the balance.

A little team bonding on the golf course:

Recruiting:

FSU moved quickly in respone to the loss of Gregory Batson landing as three-star LB Olrick Johnson III last night as he has committed to Florida State.

It’s another important weekend of official visits as top-100 safety Ta’Shawn Poole and top-150 four-star DL Sam LeJune among others will be on campus for official visits.

  • 4-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole
  • 4-star DL Sam Lejune
  • 4-star OL DaJohn Yarborough
  • 3-star Edge Jaxon Holly

FSU also landed a 2028 commitment, Chayse Brown of Lennard, Florida is an athlete that FSU likes as a safety.

All Sports:

The Big East Pitcher of the Year is transferring to Florida State; Link Jarrett adds a dominant lefty to the rotation.

Happy belated Birthday Coach A:

Pro Noles:

Cam Smith couldn’t have picked a better time for his seventh home run of the season:
