The LSU Tigers are continuing their momentum with the 2027 recruiting class, adding a commitment from four-star running back Tre Segarra, the player announced on Tuesday morning.

Segarra is a major pick-up, as a legit four-star and a top-10 running back in the country for pretty much everybody. He also held offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas Longhorns and South Carolina Gamecocks.

The South Carolina native is an athletic freak who also competed in soccer, track and wrestling. Not the most common combination of other sports for football players, but there may not be a better one for someone who plays running back.

Segarra already has college-ready size at 5-foot-10, 205 pounds. Playing soccer and track should mean that he has plenty of speed, agility and explosion. Wrestling is all about strength, balance and body control. Those are the main physical traits that running backs need to tap into.

Last season, he ran the ball 174 times for 1,460 yards and 17 touchdowns with a long of 93 and seven games of at least 100 yards, per MaxPreps. He has a little bit of receiving upside with 50 catches for 546 yards and eight scores in his career, and that's with him only playing four games as a sophomore due to injury.

Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis jr. obviously showcased their ability to make running backs shine over at Ole Miss with players like Kewan Lacy and Quinshon Judkins. Segarra will be next up after Harlem Berry.

New Tigers running back coach Kevin Smith also must be highlighted, as the loss of Frank Wilson was one of the most talked-about parts of this offseason. Smith has been a fantastic recruiter in the past and is off to a great start in Baton Rouge.
