Mountaintop View 11-17-25. Nevada wins big, San Diego State remains at the top of the conference, and more weekend wins.

It’s Monday, and we are back at it! Fresh off a weekend of football games, there was a lot of action! News will continue to come your way, and we are here for it all. Check out our original coverage and what we can find from the World Wide Web below.

Wolf Pack destroy Spartans

Apparently, Nevada saved all their points this season for the San Jose State game. After scoring only 126 points through the first nine games of the season (14 ppg), they exploded for 55 points in this one, leading 31-0 at halftime. The Wolf Pack enjoyed solid quarterback play and a huge game on the ground, putting up 218 rushing yards and scoring three rushing TDs. Coach Jeff Choate gets his first MW win, and the team gets their first conference win in 749, which is a long time.

Lobos win a nailbiter against the Rams.

Credit to Colorado State, they came to play. It was a rugged, defensive game where both teams battled for 60 mins. After a scoreless first quarter, New Mexico turned it on in the second, notching 10 points. While the Lobo offense ended up finding the endzone, the defense was the star of the game. They produced three interceptions and a fumble recovery while holding the Rams to 5 of 16 on third down. New Mexico is now 7-3 on the season.

Rebels escape against Aggies

UNLV has a fun offense and while their defense isn’t good, they do pretty well creating turnovers. However, their best attribute through 12 weeks of the season appears to be winning games they shouldn’t, as they’ve been doing all season. And they are tremendous at capitalizing on opponents’ mistakes. The Rebels did just that in this game, hanging around and enduring lead changes while Utah State had kicking issues, missing an extra point earlier in the contest and then a field goal as time expired. In fact, the Aggies missed three kicks on the day, including overtime. The Rebel offense took advantage, winning the game in double OT.

Aztecs win battle of the defenses

This game was full of punts in a scoreless first quarter. Then, each team broke through in the run game to find the endzone. However, it was San Diego State who continued to break through with their run game, winning with only 17 passing yards for the game (up from the negative passing yards they had before halftime). Their defense kept Boise State’s running game at bay, and since that’s pretty much all the Broncos were doing, they were successful at stopping their offense. With the win, SDSU maintains their lead in the conference.
