Auburn football is in jeopardy of losing its top commitment of the 2026 recruiting cycle to an SEC rival.
Steve Wiltfong of Rivals recently predicted that Bralan Womack, the nation’s No. 1 safety and top Auburn commitment, could flip to Texas A&M before signing day in December. Womack and his family were on hand to watch No. 3 Texas A&M overcome a 27-point deficit to stun South Carolina on Saturday, and Wiltfong believes the Aggies gained ground in Womack’s recruitment.
The Brandon (Miss.) Hartfield Academy standout chose Auburn in August but the coaching change on The Plains allowed the Aggies to get back into the mix. Womack and his family attended the game, met with Elko and the staff and Womack got back around the players on the team. I think Texas A&M is on the uptick with Womack and my prediction reflect that. He has always been one of the program’s top targets regardless of position and he has felt that love throughout his process.
Womack committed to Auburn in August, choosing the Tigers over Texas A&M and Ohio State. However, due to the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing head coaching search, Womack has drawn attention from other programs such as Texas A&M. Womack cited his relationship with DJ Durkin as a reason for choosing Auburn, so the Tigers may have a shot to keep him if Durkin ends up being the head coach.
Early signing day begins Dec. 3.
