Florida State is getting a big-time visitor on its campus. 2028 four-star defensive back Phoenix Evans announced on social media that he’ll be in Tallahassee on Thursday.
“Pulling up to Tallahassee tomorrow đ˘,” Evans wrote.
This will be his first trip on FSU’s campus since receiving his offer from them back in April. The Seminoles are up against major competition for Evans, as he has received over 40 offers. Some of the notable programs are the USC Trojans, Michigan Wolverines, Oregon Ducks, Miami Hurricanes, Oklahoma Sooners, and Penn State Nittany Lions.
Evans is the nation’s No. 141 prospect and the No. 11 safety per the 247Sports composite rankings. The 5-foot-10, 160-pounder is also ranked as the No. 20 prospect in Florida. Rivals has him listed as a cornerback recruit.
This will be his first year at IMG Academy in Bradenton after spending two seasons at Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey. As a sophomore, Evans racked up 39 tackles, two tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. He’s a two-time MaxPreps All-American, and he once received MVP honors at an Under Armour Next Camp.
Florida State is looking to add to three-star athlete Chayse Brown in the 2028 cycle, who committed last week.
