The Washington Huskies waited until the final official visit weekend to potentially secure all but one of what could be four offensive line commitments when all is said and done in the 2027 recruiting class.
On Friday, four-star Puyallup (Wash.) offensive tackle Gecova Doyal, fresh off a trip to Eugene to visit the Oregon Ducks and a pair of trips in May to UCLA and Utah, will make his final official visit to UW along with four-star center and Valor Christian pledge Reis Russell, and three other offensive line targets.
Ranked as the No. 4 prospect from the state of Washington and the No. 357 overall recruit in this year’s class, per the 247Sports’ Composite, Doyal has been a frequent visitor to Huskies practices and more than his fair share of home games over the past few years.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, the four-star Puyallup High School product would give Jedd Fisch three of the top four-ranked prospects from the Evergreen State in the 2027 cycle, with the potential for fellow in-state target Rashaun Lavata’i—a four-star offensive tackle out of Curtis High School—to make it four-in-four on the home front.
Thank you @UW_Football for having my family and I for junior day!! Grateful for the amazing hospitality and opportunity! We’ll be back up soon! @MichaelSwitzer@CoachBrewster50@CoachJeddFisch@Coach_TuiAvaava@FaipeaAvaava@CoachDjayy@BrandonHuffmanpic.twitter.com/HsjcrTs9Ga

Although Doyal doesn’t have the prototypical size and measurables to be a tackle in the Big Ten Conference he more than makes up for it with high-end athleticism and potential versatility, meaning he could follow a similar path that former UW offensive lineman Troy Fautanu did by beginning his college career inside before kicking out later in his career.
Aside from UW wanting to maintain its presence as the top procurer of elite in-state talent, there is an addition benefit to having beat out a pair of former Pac-12 Conference and now fellow Big Ten foes Oregon and UCLA, along with now-Big 12 member Utah, is a significant marker for Switzer and Co.
Previously the Huskies under former coaches Jimmy Lake and Kalen DeBoer made a run at former four-star Puyallup High School standout Dave Iuli, who ended up at Oregon and has since become a mainstay along the Ducks’ offensive line, adding fuel to the fire on an in-state battle that Fisch and the Huskies can’t afford to lose.
