To say Tye Kennedy’s final official visit to the University of Washington has been a long time in the making would be an understatement.
The 6-foot-6, 275-pound Mountain View High School offensive tackle and son of Washington legend and College Football Hall of Famer Lincoln Kennedy is set to descend on his father’s alma mater this weekend for his fourth and final official visit after making three previous trips to Stanford (May 22), Utah (June 5), and Michigan (June 12).
Without an offensive tackle secured entering this weekend for the Huskies in the 2027 class, the younger Kennedy is well-positioned to be one of two tackles taken by offensive line coach Michael Switzer and coach Jedd Fisch, along with four-star Rashaun Lavata’i, who wrapped up his official visit in Seattle on Thursday.

Kennedy has been a formidable left tackle for Mountain View going into his senior year. With a year-plus in a college football weight program, the three-star recruit’s abilities should carry over to the Power Four level. Aside from being a UW legacy, year-over-year attrition will likely require the staff to take at least two tackles and potentially four total linemen in the 2027 class.
Being that the younger Kennedy saved his last visit for the final weekend that recruits can make official visits before the summer dead period, that should be a strong indication of where his father’s alma mater stands in his recruitment. Usually, it would be a sure UW-lock, but former Utes and now-Michigan coach Kyle Whittingham has made a strong push, and Stanford’s education will always make things interesting as a unique, but understandably hard to turn down option.
Kennedy is ranked as the No. 49 offensive tackle and No. 12 prospect from the state of Arizona in the 2027 class, based on 247Sports’ rankings. Neither 247Sports nor Rivals has made projections as to where the talented Grand Canyon State product will play college football.
