The Oregon Ducks are one of the most attractive destinations for the top high school recruits. Dan Lanning and his staff have secured three straight top-10 cycles from 2023 to 2025.
While many teams are focusing on the 2026 cycle, Oregon is keeping an eye on the future. The Ducks have landed 18 commitments in the 2027 recruiting class, ranking seventh in the nation and first in the Big Ten.
Now, Oregon is in line to make another big addition. In an article posted on Friday, Rivals recruiting analyst Greg Biggins revealed a prediction for the Ducks to land Xavier Sabb, who is taking an official visit to Eugene on Friday.
“Oregon has been steady in his recruitment and Sabb has already visited the campus multiple times,” Biggins wrote. “The trip to Oregon will be his final visit and it sounds like a decision could happen as soon as late June or early July.”
Out of Glassboro, New Jersey, he is a five-star recruit, the No. 5 wide receiver and the No. 30 player in the nation, according to Rivals Industry Rankings.
Sabb is coming off a productive junior season at Glassboro High School. In 13 games, he hauled in 59 receptions for 896 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also saw action as a defensive back, accumulating 15 tackles, two tackles for loss, four interceptions and two pass deflections.
Sabb’s connection with Lanning has been a key piece to his recruiting process. He previously said, ” I feel like family. Coach Dan is a motivator, great guy. Also enjoy his conversation. He is real. Down to earth, according to Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong.
Oregon still has several other programs it must beat out for a commitment, though. Sabb also holds offers from the Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Penn State Nittany Lions and Michigan Wolverines.
