Despite losing four starters to the 2026 NFL Draft, Texas A&M's offensive line is projected to be in the top half of the Southeastern Conference this season.
That's according to Athlon Sports college football writer Steve Lassan, who provided his conference offensive line rankings on ThatSECPodcast with host Michael Bratton, also known as SEC Mike. Knowing the depth would be limited after the departures, head coach Mike Elko went to the transfer portal to bring in some impressive talent from league foes at guard and tackle.
The unit's ability to protect quarterback Marcel Reed will determine whether this year's offense takes the next step or struggles to find its footing against a challenging slate, which includes an extra conference game for the first time.
SEC Offensive Line Rankings by @AthlonSteven
#1 Georgia: "I think Georgia is the clear No. 1 OLine in the SEC"
#2 Texas: "I'm going to bank on this unit being better this year."
#3 Tennessee: "Love this OLine, think it's one of the best in the country" pic.twitter.com/iS16fvQpVq

The Aggies hauled in the No. 4 transfer portal class in the offseason, which was due in large part to the massive offensive line signings. It all starts with one of the most versatile additions at any position in Alabama transfer Wilkin Formby. His ability to play at guard and tackle was displayed through three seasons with the Crimson Tide. At 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, Formby is a dominant force that could be the anchor of the unit in 2026.
Along with Formby, LSU tackle Tyree Adams and South Carolina interior offensive lineman Trovon Baugh bring experience and a unique set of skills that should provide Reed protection to find one of the most talented wide receiving corps in the country.
While last year's offensive line ranked as one of the best units in college football during last season's playoff run, the 2026 group could be just as impressive. The Aggies have the talent to have another outstanding season in Bryan-College Station, but it will all depend on the performances up front.
