Linebacker play helped lead Indiana football to its unprecedented rise over the course of the past two seasons, being the position defensive coordinator Bryant Haines coaches himself. Now the Hoosiers are looking to the future.

Cain Brackney, a linebacker out of Oklahoma, had been committed to UCLA since April. He received a scholarship offer from Indiana in May, took an official visit to Bloomington earlier this month and announced he’d instead commit to Indiana on Monday, per Rivals national recruiting and transfer portal reporter Hayes Fawcett.

Brackney has recently received offers from Colorado, Baylor and in-state Oklahoma State, taking an official visit to Michigan days before Indiana and UCLA earlier in June. Ultimately, the Hoosiers were able to outsell the Bruins and Wolverines.

He’s rated as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, ranking in as the 98th highest-rated linebacker in the class and the 17th highest-rated player in the state of Oklahoma.
