The Auburn Tigers have won another battle on the recruiting trail. This time, the Tigers beat out a Big Ten squad to keep one of Alabama's top recruits in the state.

Deshawn Hall committed to Auburn over Penn State on Tuesday. Hall, a native of Prattville and the No. 9 player from Alabama in the 2027 recruiting cycle, is commitment No. 23 for the Auburn Tigers in this cycle, and is the second wide receiver to join the class.

The battle for Hall came down to the wire as recruiting experts from 247Sports submitted two predictions favoring Penn State to be Hall's suitor, while Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons of Rivals saw Auburn becoming the winner. Alex Golesh and his staff pulled out all the stops over the last week and became the winners of the race over Matt Campbell and Penn State.

Hall provides a tall presence in Prattville's wide receiving corps by standing 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds. He was Prattville High School's leading receiver last season, hauling in 40 catches for 660 yards and five touchdowns last season.

Auburn entered the day ranked No. 9 in 247Sports' 2027 recruiting rankings, and Hall's 92.888 composite score makes him the seventh-highest rated player in Auburn's 2027 recruiting class, behind EDGE rusher James Pace.
