LSU among finalists for Four-Star Safety Davion Jones

The LSU Tigers are officially one step closer to landing one of the top defensive backs in the 2027 recruiting class, with four-star safety Davion Jones of Cornelius, North Carolina announcing that he has narrowed his recruitment down to five schools.

LSU made the cut alongside Auburn, South Carolina, Georgia, and Indiana, setting the stage for a pivotal month in his recruitment.

Jones, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound prospect, has also locked in a commitment date of July 26, meaning the Tigers won’t have to wait long to learn his decision.

The five-foot-eleven, 165-pound defensive back has emerged as one of the top players in the state and one of the more coveted defensive backs in the Southeast. LSU’s inclusion among his finalists speaks to the work Lane Kiffin and the Tigers’ staff have done to position themselves in the race.

With less than a month remaining until he makes the big decision, LSU will look to finish strong against fellow SEC programs, as well as other highly touted programs. The focus shifts to July 26, when one of North Carolina’s top prospects will announce where he plans to continue his football career.
