There is not much better than a well-executed surprise, especially for a legendary head coach. Ross Bjork, Ryan Day, and several of Jim Tressel's former players pulled off one of the best ones to date.
Unbeknownst to Tressel, he was being escorted by Bjork to one of the coolest moments in his life. He entered the Buckeyes' locker room to a round of applause and cheers while an amazing collection of Buckeyes greeted him to give him this incredible honor.
After a few nice words from Bjork and Day, they pulled back the curtain to unveil the permanent signage that is going to be placed next to Woody Hayes' on the East side of the stadium.
Tressel fought back emotion, but this is a moment that will be burned into the minds of many for the rest of time.
Jim Tressel is Ohio State football. He restored the Buckeyes program to reach its standard after a couple of tough seasons under John Cooper. Tressel immediately turned Ohio State around.
Tressel finished his coaching career at Ohio State with an amazing 106-22 record over the course of 10 seasons at the helm.

He led the Buckeyes to one National Championship in the most improbable 2002 season in a game that the Buckeyes had no business winning. Over his 10 seasons, Tressel registered more than 10 wins in eight of those seasons.
In the Championship year of 2002, Tressel led the Buckeyes to a perfect 14-0 record, his lone perfect campaign.
Tressel is third all-time in Ohio State history with 106 victories, which is just five short of surpassing Cooper's 111 victories. He would still have to be coaching to this day to have surpassed Hayes's 206 career wins, which will not be touched any time soon.
Tressel is the definition of legacy, according to Ryan Day. When someone thinks of the electric gray hair, the sweater vest, and the pure love for punting, they think of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Tressel is Ohio State football, and he now will forever be a part of the program. His name will hang in Ohio Stadium for as long as colleges are playing football.
