The summer is heating up for the Oregon Ducks on the recruiting trail. With several top targets set to come off the board soon, the Ducks will be busy adding to their 2027 recruiting class.
Elite corner Hayden Stepp has locked in his commitment date for next week. Stepp will announce his commitment on July 1 during the Rivals Summer Signing Day recruiting special. He will make his decision live on the Rivals YouTube channel.

Stepp has a five-star rating, per the 247 Sports Composite ranking, and is a four-star recruit according to Rivals. Stepp is the No. 40 overall recruit in the 2027 class, per the Rivals Industry Ranking, and the top player from Nevada, where he stars at Bishop Gorman High School.
The Ducks hosted Stepp for an official visit on June 12 and emerged as leaders in the race. He was hosted during the visit by Oregon freshman safety Jett Washington, who was teammates with Stepp at Bishop Gorman High School. Stepp began his official visit tour at Alabam in late May. Cal hosted Stepp for a midweek official visit on June 15.
Multiple recruiting experts have logged predictions for Stepp to land with the Ducks, including Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong. At this point, it would be a surprise if he is not wearing an Oregon cap when he commits next week.
Oregon is expecting multiple commitments this summer, and even a few within the next week. Stepp is one of the biggest targets left on the board for the Ducks, and his commitment could help the Ducks finish with a top-five recruiting class once again.
