ESPN is making some changes to its college football announcing teams for the 2026 season and beyond.
The Worldwide Leader in Sports is shaking up its lead announcing teams for both the SEC Network and the ACC Network.
Front Office Sports has confirmed the changes. The SEC Network's top broadcasting team will feature Matt Schumacker and former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray. Meanwhile, the ACC Network's top broadcasting team will feature Wes Durham and former USC and Pitt quarterback Max Browne.
Last year, the SEC Network's primetime games were announced by Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers, and Cole Cubelic. The trio was together for nine years.
Meanwhile, longtime SEC Network host Laura Rutledge is leaving the network's pregame show.
Not everyone is happy with the changes.
College football fans have grown accustomed to the trio of Hart, Rodgers and Cubelic. Meanwhile, fans are skeptical of the changes being made to the ACC Network's top broadcasting team.
Ultimately, fans hope that things will work out for the best, though right now, fans are being critical.
College football fans critical of ESPN's announcer changes
College football fans are speaking out.
"The Hart/Rodgers/Cubelic team is the best in CFB, so yeah let’s screw that up," college football writer Steven Godfrey shared.
"Completly agree! When I listen to Aaron Murray, my favorite thing is when he stops talking. Murray is so boring he could put a meth addict to sleep," one fan added.
"Rodgers got a big promotion to be a voice of college football (well deserved), but not sure why Hart and Cubelic are getting demoted?" another fan added.
"ESPN ruins everything," one fan added.
College football fans are among the most passionate in all of sports and they love (and hate) their announcing teams.
It's clear that they are going to need some time to get used to the new teams at the SEC Network and ACC Network.
