This week over at The Athletic, they are looking back at college football in the 90s. One of the pieces they published was “The 90 things we miss about college football in the 90s“. Now we’re not going to do 90, but how about nine things this guy misses about Syracuse Football in the 90s, and you can add yours to the comments.

Big name opponents in the Dome: From 1990-99, Syracuse hosted Michigan State, Florida, Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Michigan in non-conference games.

Fiesta Bowls: Syracuse appeared in two Fiesta Bowls during the 90s and we’d all love to be in one soon because that means College Football Playoffs.

Kirby Dar Dar Touchdown Touchdown Club: basketball still has 311 Heaven but we need more creative fan sections for football. “Angeli’s Angels” “Deslauriers Demolition Crew”…surely others have ideas

Top 25 rankings: From 1991-99, Syracuse found themselves ranked in the top 25 at least once during the season. Six seasons ended with a top-25 Syracuse team.

NFL talent: McNabb, Harrison, Konrad, Johnson. Bulluck, Darius, Jones. This era of Syracuse football gave us early looks at some long-time NFL players.
