TV channel, kickoff time for Georgia football vs. Georgia Tech

The No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs play the No. 12 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday, Nov. 28, in the regular season finale for both teams. Georgia (9-1, 7-1 SEC) hosts Charlotte 49ers the week before playing Georgia Tech (9-1, 6-1 ACC) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Georgia Tech plays Pittsburgh a week before playing Georgia. The Yellow Jackets are looking to clinch a berth in the ACC championship game.

Both rivals have a short week to prepare for each other. The game will be played on the day after Thanksgiving. Last year, Georgia overcame a 17-0 halftime deficit to beat Georgia Tech 44-42 in eight overtimes in Athens.

Last year’s defeat left a bitter taste in Georgia Tech’s mouth and they’ll look to beat Georgia in Atlanta for the first time since 1999 on Black Friday. Georgia has won seven straight games against Georgia Tech, but the margin between the two schools is closing. Georgia Tech has lost in one-score games in their last two meetings with Georgia. Georgia coach Kirby Smart is 7-1 against the Yellow Jackets with his lone loss coming in 2016.

ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Georgia a 86.1% chance to beat Georgia Tech. Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate will have some legitimate College Football Playoff implications. At this point, Georgia is pretty much a lock to make the playoff, but losing to Georgia Tech could prevent the Bulldogs from getting a first-round bye. Georgia Tech could lose to Georgia and still make the playoff as long as they win the ACC.
